Admission Requirements

The minimum admission requirements are listed below. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission. Applications will be considered on a holistic basis including the applicant’s professional experience.

  1. An honours undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution, with a minimum grade point average of B over the final two years of full-time equivalent study. Applicants who don't have the minimum grade point average but have a substantial professional experience or equivalent will still be considered for admission. International applicants should check York University degree equivalency page here.
  2. An education in business or related discipline as evidenced by the undergraduate degree or a graduate diploma (applicants lacking these criteria may consider taking a Graduate Diploma in Management prior to applying for the Master’s program).
  3. A quantitative background demonstrated by course work in statistics, math, economics, and research methods during previous studies.

English proficiency

International students and internationally educated domestic students must have completed at least one year of full-time study at an accredited university in a country (or institution) where English is the official language of instruction.

The following minimum scores must be met on either of the tests below:

Admissions Process and Deadlines

Applicants are required to fill out an Application for Admission Form as well as pay a non-refundable application fee.

The complete application must include:

  1. Unofficial copies of transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions (Official copies will be required if an applicant receives an offer to the program).
  2. Two satisfactory letters of reference (e.g., a minimum rating of ‘good’ in all letters), which may include: a) an academic reference from a faculty member who taught the applicant; and/or b) a reference from a direct workplace supervisor of the applicant within the past five years who can evaluate the applicant’s analytical orientation.
  3. A personal statement of research and professional plans—clearly stated, logically developed, and congruent with the MScMP program. Make sure to indicate the specialization that you are planning to pursue - Accounting, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management (note that Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Managing Professionals specializations are not offered for the Fall 2021).

  5. Completed MScMP Supplementary Information Form (.pdf)
  6. International students and internationally educated domestic students are required to demonstrate their English proficiency if no previous studies were completed in English (as per Category A of English Language Proficiency if applicable)

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of the professors in the program.

For the September 2021 start date, the application deadlines are:

  • for domestic applicants: July 15, 2021.
  • for international applicants: March 15, 2021. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered for Fall 2021.

Applicants will be notified of a decision regarding their acceptance into the September program by July 30. Students cannot defer their acceptance to the next term.
